This is classic failure of the self-leveling system. Most probably one or both of the acuators are leaking-they can leak and you can still have fluid. Part of the chamber is nitrogen filled and I believe inside a bladder. Anyway, it's advanced do-it-yourself stuff, but it would be worth looking into given what a dealer would charge you! See if there is a book in here written about just that. From what I read, those are absolute classic MB symptoms.
Hi Kent, I just wanted to drop you a line. I set the valves with your wrenches, did the purge, and then changed the filters.. she is running great! I just wanted to thank you for the SUPER directions and tech help. Needless to say, we will be doing business in the future.
