This is such a big problem on the early 1977 to 1979 123 300D, 300CD and 300TD diesels that I decided a good replacement kit was in order. Often I find the main feed wire loose or frayed, the fuse box cracked or melted, and the fuse connector points corroded or loose.

Leaking fuel injector pumps have become a very common problem in the 60x. engines produced from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s. The early 60x.
Here are a couple turbo diesel rubber seals that are hard to find and really need replacing on most engines.

New Behr Thermostat and sealing ring rated at 87 degrees C. Correct fit for all 201 and 124 chassis 4 and 6 cylinder gasoline engines from 1984 to 1993. Most thermostats only operate at peak efficiency for few years and should be changed for optimal engine performance.
Emergency brake shoe maintenance is often neglected because the rear brake rotor has to be removed to inspect and repair them. If the car has ever been driven a long distance with the emergency brake on, expect problems.
