I figured out why the spark plugs in these V6 engines don't seem to ever get changed.
With this deluxe kit, you can reduce frustration and save big when doing it yourself. Watch the videos below to learn more!
16 spark plugs for the V8. 12 spark plugs for the V6. No wonder they never get changed. I think people freak out about the cost. I am determined to change that mindset.
We have been talking about this for years. It was Ryan who got a friend to make this for us. It is a very high-quality vinyl with a special stick adhesive that "breathes" and does not allow bubbles to get trapped during application.
This is a common failure item on most 1998 to 2006 models, not expensive, and something you can do yourself if you have the right tools. This 17 minute video will show you in detail how to do it yourself and what tools you will need. I have had two of these sensors fail on me personally.
On the M112 V6 and M113 V8 engines this is the most common failure item that can leave you stranded. Better to replace it with an improved new part BEFORE your engine quits cold.
This 12-minute instructional video covers the full procedure of replacing both shift bushings in a 1999 R129 SL500 and goes over the challenges of replacing the same bushings in a 2003 ML320.
On a regular basis, Kent and Gerson custom make tools to make certain jobs go easier and faster. So is the case with this long reach ratchet. It was developed to get glow plugs out of the older diesel engines without having to remove the hard lines.
You will receive two (2) five liter bottles more than enough to do a full oil change on any vehicle:
This is one set that will pretty much do it all: door panels, radio, windows, interior trim, exterior trim, engine, fastener plugs, seals, etc. Strong enough to even change a bicycle tire...
For newer Mercedes, you will be hard pressed to remove some of the fasteners without this socket set, especially around the engine. This is one of the higher quality sets we have seen.
This is the very best hose Kent has found to use to install spark plugs in restricted spaces. Watch the video below and he will demonstrate.
Want the best, fastest, and easiest way to polish faded anodized aluminum trim, to remove fine scratches from your glass, to loosen rusted and stuck fittings and bolts, and to sand rust out of tight places? - enter the multitool or multi-function tool.
This is a full 25-minute step-by-step instructional video on how to properly flush or bleed your brake system using our pressure brake bleeder and fluid capture tank.
In this video, Kent explains the correct procedure for cleaning and lubricating your hubs and rear brake rotor BEFORE you install your wheels. He hardly ever sees this done when removing wheels on 15 plus-year-old Mercedes so he knows it is almost ALWAYS neglected.
This tank works amazing! Put in the heavy rear end or trans fluid. Pump up the pressure. Stick the non-fall-out end in to fill hole... and just push on the valve in the handle of the filling wand.
Have you dreaded changing the rear end fluid before because it is a pain and ends up being really "messy?" Kent finally decided there had to be a better way so he went to work and came up with the idea of using a simple and affordable custom made pressure tank to "flush" and refill differentials
These are Kent's favorites. As shown in this video on youtube. Pack of 5 shipped.
This is a must-have if you have a prized Benz or any car you don't drive often!! If you let any of your cars sit for long periods ( generally over 30 days) without driving them, you can ruin your battery, especially if you let it go completely dead.
This includes Kent's three videos on the early Airmatic suspension from 2000 to 2006 that you see in the related products below. For detailed information on each video just click on those links.
In this video, I will go over the procedure of removing and replacing the level control valve in your older Mercedes with Airmatic suspension. The work here will be performed on a 2000 W220 S500. Other models may have the valve located in a different position with slightly different mounting.
I do not need to say much about this tool. Well made and well thought out. Someone who obviously was frustrated at scratching the finish on his or her alloy wheels came up with this idea. Watch the video below to see why this is now my favorite go it 17 mm lug bolt socket.
Works on W114, W115, R107, W116, W123 and W126. A better performing and more comfortable 14mm hex wrench to use when changing the fluid in your rear end. Will work on manual transmission with 14mm drain plug only. Watch the video to see why.
These are the instructions that come with our black engine and chassis paint restoration kit, but they will help you successfully spray paint almost anythings. These step-by-step techniques were developed by Kent over almost 60 years of spray painting cars and parts.
UPS GROUND ONLY: This is the best spray can paint Kent has found to detail the semi-gloss black parts on your Benz. It is not easy to find a good spray can paint!
2 large style clamps to be used on upper and lower radiator hoses. Use these to replace your thermostat or water pump without having to drain all your coolant out of the radiator. Works on medium size coolant hoses also.
If you have been enjoying Kent's free Youtube videos but have not yet purchased and watched one of his on-demand "meat and potatoes" videos, we guarantee you are really missing something.
This video will show you to details on how to use Kent's custom rear end and manual transmission drain plug wrench. These 14 mm plugs were used on almost all manual transmission and rear ends from the early 1960's up to the mid 2000's.

In this video instruction Kent will show you how he installs our battery tender kit in a W124 Mercedes.
Kent will show you how he found one very small leak in the front and a inconsistant leak in the rear of the airmatic suspension on a W220 S500. Neither of these leaks were showing up on any diagnostic scan so they were not the direct fault of major component failure.
If your shift lever feels loose or is rattling, that is an almost sure sign that a bushing (or both)on the transmission shifting lever or the console shifter has disintegrated and fallen out.
Oil filter changes are important, but I believe on these high interval oil change schedules that changing the oil fitler can be just as important! Use the wrong filter and the engine can suffer serious damage.
This is a collection of SPECIAL tools Kent has put together to help you grab, twist, and pull on things in and around your Mercedes. He makes each one of these tools right here in his shop.
This is a very high quality finish wrench set. The 13mm combination wrench that is 8 inches long. The 17mm has a ratcheting box end great for alternators, bumpers, etc. and is 11 inches long. The 18mm for 1996+ models is also 11 inches long.

Indications that your seal needs replacing are tears in the lip and no resistance when you close your trunk. If you trunk snaps shut too easily it means the seal has collapsed and is no longer sealing properly.
This applies to those Mercedes with the 722.6x 5 speed automatic transmissions built from 1998 to 2006. They have a cap on the transmission fill tube with the words "MB Workshop Only." Heaven forbid if you break into one of these transmissions!
In this video Kent will go through the process step-by-step of properly installing new air filters in your 500 series larger V8 models produced after 2000. If not done properly you can damage the engine cover and possibly the engine itself.

I like the convenience of using the factory jack points (holes) but I absolutely DO NOT like using the factory jack - except in cases of emergency road side repair. You all know it can be a little unstable... I solved this problem by using a large heavy duty bolt.
