If you own an older Mercedes sedan or wagon, it is a very good idea to remove all four door panels, repair components, clean drains, and, most importantly, lubricate all moving parts, as Kent explains in numerous YouTube videos.
Good used hood star as shown. Excellent star but few very small nicks in the base. All chrome is good.
Very rare part for a rare Benz.
6 black plastic clips as shown. Have these on hand any time you need to remove the two vent grills under the windshield
In this 12-minute instructional video, Kent will show you how he installs the rear hood seal on the hoods of the R107 and the C107 built from 1972 to 1989.
Very important part for fresh air supply any time heater or ac is running.
If you own an R107 most likely this will be torn, missing, or rotting away. This helps with engine cooling as well as prevents engine fumes from getting into the cars vents.
Are you dealing with any of these sunroof problems? Stuck roof, broken drive gears, bad cable, no lubrication, broken slides, headliner panel coming apart, installation problems, alignment, slow movement, headliner jamming, roof panel sits too low, and clutch spinning or not adjusted properly.
In this 20-minute instructional video, Kent will walk you through the steps of getting the steel sunroof panel installed properly back into the car's roof. The first step will require cleaning, inspection, and possible replacement of the plastic slides.
In this 13 minute instructional video Kent will show you how to clean your sunroof cable tube, prep your cable for easy installation, lube the cable during installation, show preliminary clutch adjustement, and demonstrate how to get cable to engage the drive assembly using the power switch.
Contamintion in the window washer fluid tank is one of the main reasons the spray nozzles get plugged up. Install this little fitler somewhere in the line between the pump and the nozzles on the hood and secure with zip ties.
The sunroof transmission drive unit moves the cable back and forth to open and close the sunroof. There are 5 gears inside this unit that transfer the incoming drive from the motor ( high speed) to the final drive moving the cable (slow speed).
In part one Kent will show you how to get all the sunroof parts off our old Mercedes and on a bench particularly if you sunroof is broken and not moving. In this 21 minute instructional video here is a list of the subjects he covers:
Good condition as shown.
These are not Mercedes specific although some will work well in certain places on older Benz. This is a general purpose assortment that can be used on many vehicles. Handy to have in your garage.
Blue in color. Very good condition as shown.
Good used working right side mirror and hardware as shown. It is not perfect so if you are looking for show quality then do not purchase. The rubber surround is very good, with no gouges or wear spots. The chome is good, but then is a very small indentation where my finger is pointing below.
In this 14 minute instructional video, Kent will show you how to safely remove the side window lower trim without damaging the car's paint or the soft aluminum trim. He will do this using his special tool to do this job. He will also show you how to install the trim back on without bending it.
This can be one of the hardest trim pieces to remove if you don't want to damage the car's paint or the aluminum trim itself. When working on detailing his 300TD wagon, Kent finally decided it was time to make a special tool for this operation.
After years of wearing out his shoulder and elbow joints trying to hand polish convertible top windows, Kent finally decided he had to use some fast-action power tool. The idea for this kit and the included tool came from developing and using his aluminum trim polish kit.
Cad plating can be expensive but is great for show restorations. If you just want to make those parts on your old Benz look good then this is the closest paint Kent has found to looking like cadmium gold plating. Check out the pictures below of the fuel delivery brackets he did with this paint.
DOES NOT FIT W111 230S OR 230SE SEDANS.
This video is loaded with tips on how to properly lubricate all the key components that make your sunroof operate smoothly and properly. It is NOT a complete manual on everything related to sunroofs. It will NOT show you all the details to get the sunroof out and back in.
BRAND NEW. No longer made.
BRAND NEW tight-fitting taillight seals for you 123. These are one of the key sources of water getting into your 1977 to 1985 sedan or coupe trunk.
In this 22-minute instructional video, Kent will take you inside the door on a W123 240D and show you all the key points that should be lubricated and the type of lubricants you should use.
INTRODUCTORY SALE: If you are going to "take on" servicing or repairing an old sunroof that does not work or that has been neglected, we are now offering all of Kent's non-tilting sunroof related manuals and video instructions in one package.
Good used emblems as shown. All pins are in tack.
This is an above-average used bumper, as shown. It's not perfect. Study the pictures carefully. Chrome is clean and bright, and there is no major corrosion on the front or back, where you usually find severe aluminum corrosion.
Hard to find not torn or damaged in some way. These fit on the lips of the front under fender plastic splash guards. No tears or rips - rubber is still soft - good cleaning and sealing with rubber protectant needed.
Hard to believe we took so long to come up with this tool. It was Gerson's genius that made it happen. The secret turned out to be the hook that keeps the tool in place while stretching out the rubber donut. Wow! What a cool tool.
This one is a very nice passenger side front side rubber mounting bracket. Not rusty like most you see. The threaded mounting stud is fully in place and has not been broken off by rust. We include the special aluminum mounting spacer and nut for the back side. You will be happy with this one.
This was a good working unit before taken apart. All the internal parts are very usable. This will give you some repair spares for the future.
Kent jokingly mentions this has become a late W123 epidemic! You see this problem happening on all late model 240D, 300D, 300CD, and 300TD wagons.
I save this for someone who might have a 1980 300SD and does not have the sticker for the vacuum hose routing. I thought someone out there might want this... :-)
Super nice part. Appears to be NOS stock. No rust or paint flaking. Comes with good clips and are springs are excellent
Damage-free 108 front fenders, front bumper, rear bumper, hood, and trunk lid These parts all came off a 1968 low mileage 280S that sat in a warm garage since 1978. This happens to the parts on an old car when it never leaves a warm garage for 40 years! Sorry, we can not ship them.
This video will show Kent's technique on how to prime and paint alloy wheels using our wheel paint kit and masking dam that we sell separately. See below. The techniques will also apply to any spray can paint you should choose to use.
Good used large round main head light bulb ring for U.S. W123 headlights. No dents Good chrome on outside - may be some light rust on inside of ring ( out of sight)
Maybe you have even tried this only to have to patch fall on the floor when you walk away... ( it has happened to Kent... :-) ).
This can happen when you least expect it! It happened to me right when I purchased a W109 300SEL and it can be really frustrating.
This super fine cloth along with Miracle Paint can really do some fine rust repair detailing. You can use it on a rough pitted area that you want to smooth out. Put on a couple layers of cloth and coat with Miracle Paint. Let dry and block sand.
If one or more doors on a W116 sedan require an excessive pull on the door handle for the door to open you may be able to easily fix this yourself.
This on-demand training video will walk you through the steps you need to follow in order to get your headliner panel off so you can work on the sunroof. If your sunroof won't open, you are stuck - right? Not SO according to Kent.
This is the best tool we have found to remove the chrome side trim strips and snap type door panels on may of the older models from the mid 1960's to the mid 1980's.
DOES NOT INCLUDE HOOD PAD --- This special glue is very hard to obtain and has doubled in price since 2021 when it could not be found. This kit includes everything you will need to successfully install a new foam hood pad in your older Mercedes.
This simple tool set will save you much frustration and possible damage to yourself or to your ML hood. These tools allow you to remove the hood struts easily without damaging the spring clip or ball socket. Also works on many other hood and tail gate struts (like the Suburban).
Many owners are surprised to learn that their early ML's hood can actually be adjusted to go almost straight up. It is not as easy to do as some of the earlier models where you only had to flip a couple levers.
