Kent has come up with a new repair kit that will permanently fix your sagging and sloppy inside door pulls. This applies to all W123 and W126 chassis. New ones are very expensive if you can find them. Good used ones are getting harder to get.

WARNING READ CAREFULLY: If your vacuum pump recently broke apart there may be a reason for it other than just a vacuum pump fatigue failure. When these pumps break up inside there is usually a problem with the drive mechanism inside the diesel engine.

This is one of the most often neglected services I see on the M272 engine. Even at 100,000 miles, you often see the tank has never been changed, and you can recognize that by looking to see if there is a factory crimp hose clamp still in place on the fluid return hose at the bottom of the tank.
This is not a difficult part to replace, but it does require you to remove the belt and one pulley. A good time to replace this part is at the 80 to 100K inspection interval since you will already be removing / replacing the belt and pulleys.
Failure is more common and happens more often with these thermostats due to the internal temperature probe that goes down through the center of the housing. It is much better to replace this as a preventative measure to prevent engine overheating.
Yes, that is correct. These are the same parts on all 272 V6 and 273 V8 from 2006 to 2013. That is a few million cars that are now all aging, and many have not had these parts replaced. I am not sure why many shops do not even recommend this service before something fails! WARNING!
I recommend that the oil separators on the M272 and M273 engines be changed every 40K miles to prevent excess oil from entering your intake manifold.

Fits most M113 V8 Mercedes from 2000 to 2006 included the S500, E500, and SL500. If this part fails, you will get a check engine light and a specific P code.
How do you know if these parts need replacing? If you have driven 50,000 miles since it was installed or last changed then they need to be replaced to prevent oil from entering your intake manifold.
