Kent's procedure uses the factory recommended "drip tube method" but with a "twist." He has devised a way to get accurate and consistant IP timing results while trying to get the drip tube to drip at one drip per second exactly when it should!

This kit will allow you to remove your old fuel warmer and completely bypass it with the parts and instructions you will receive in this kit.
Mercedes installed small fuel warmers on these engines using engine coolant to warm up the fuel just before it enters the injection pump. The idea is great - especially in cold climates, but in moderate and warmer climates it is probably not needed.
While working on the fuel injectors of a 240D this week, Kent finally decided he had had enough. After 20 years of fighting those fuel injector return hoses he decided he just had to come up with a tool to make the job easier. 2 hours later the tool was designed and the prototype made.
Any time you are removing and replacing your fuel injectors you will need to change the return hose and the heat shield crush washers. If you don’t, you will have leaking hoses and possible compression leaks at the injector nozzles.
Leaking fuel injector pumps have become a very common problem in the 60x. engines produced from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s. The early 60x.
If your fuel level gauge is not reading accurately or the needle jumps around and or your car’s low fuel warning light does not comes on, it is usually a problem with the tubular sending unit in the fuel tank.
If you need a good tank for your 126 diesel then this is it. It is rust free inside. Please note, does not come with a cap or fuel level sending unit nor does it come with a fuel tank screen or hoses. Those items can be ordered separately or you can use them from your existing tank.
This is a common occurrence as these gas engines with Bosch C.I.S. fuel injection age. Most of them are now at least 20 + years old. The problem goes something like this. You start the engine cold and it will hardly run. It runs rough and idles very low and will even quit a few times.
If you think CIS fuel injectors can just be ignored, think again. Sure, your gas engine will continue to start and run “ok”, but you may find that it is not producing the power it once did nor the fuel mileage it once delivered.

The timing device installed in the W115, W116, W123 and early W126 with OM615, OM616, and OM617 engines from 1986 to 1985 is somewhat a mystery to many owners.

Good used ALDA assembly removed from a good running 300SD engine. This device sits on top of the injection pump and controls fuel flow rates to your injectors. This unit can be damaged if improperly adjusted.

This is the best tool to use when installing or removing the Monark hand primer pump. PLEASE NOTE. This is 19mm and will NOT work on the Bosch hand primer pump or other style pumps (most others are 17 mm).
This is a brand new Genuine Mercedes check valve for the fuel injection pump on 4 and 5 cylinder diesels 1977 to 1985. This valve is mounted on inside of pump in the fuel line going to the filter.

With these old gas fuel injectors, sometimes you just have to "back flush" the insides to restore them to peak performance. There is no guarantee that back flush cleaning will restore every old gasoline mechanical fuel injector. Some are just plain worn out.

This is something many owner's and mechanics miss. That little check valve on the side of the injection pump can cause a lot of starting problems on the older diesels.

The FLOW pressure method can be used to both check and set injection pump timing. Personally, Kent likes to use this method only when checking if the I.P. needs adjustment.
The FLOW or low pressure method of checking and adjusting injection pump timing does not require a separate pressure tank. With this method you use the hand primer pump to pump up pressure in the injection pump to get fuel to flow out of the half round drip tube included in this kit.
If you have had to remove any of the banjo bolts you can see that those sealing rings are getting quite old... when you see scoring in the ring the ring appears to be crushed, they should be replaced to prevent leaks and to prevent air from getting into the fuel lines.
