In this 13-minute instructional video Kent will walk you through the steps of installing a standard (non-ABC) fluid reservoir tank on a standard (non-ABC) power steering pump if you choose to remove the original tandem pump.

When doing a coil-over conversion, do not leave the original pump and hydraulic lines in place as some suggest. You are only asking for future problems. Worry in the background will not be eliminated!

Anytime you need to replace your rear shocks/struts, you must drop the rear control arm. If you are doing other rear suspension work, you may need to drop it as well. Kent came up with this tool kit when he was converting his SL500 to conventional coil-over shock absorbers.

PLEASE do not order in error! Check your engine first with the cover off. It should look exactly like the one you see in the picture below. LH-Jetronic fuel injection is electronic, so it does not require a fuel accumulator at the car's back end.

Each fuel pump has a critical check valve mounted at the pump outlet. The purpose of this check valve is to prevent fuel from leaking back through the pump after the engine has been shut down. Constant fuel pressure must be held in the fuel system for the engine to restart quickly.

This DIY job is very important for a number of reasons. Changing the fluid and the filter every 40k to 50k will extend the life of your power steering pump and steering rack. Changing out the reservoir will allow you to replace the seal between the tank and the pump.
THESE ARE GENUINE BOSCH. Do not purchase the cheaper aftermarket regulators as we have found they do not last. This voltage regulator that bolts on to the back of your alternator. This is the common failure point and when it does you will not be getting any charge to your battery.
This is becoming one of the common transmission fluid leaks on these older automatics. If the trans is leaking fluid in small puddles while the car sits for longer periods suspect this seal. You can be fooled thinking it is coming from the pan gasket.

This kit includes two pump motor rubber seals and one plastic plug for the extra hole (if needed). Some tanks have only one pump, some have one pump and one plug, and some have two pumps. and one plug. So we give you this combination to cover most tanks.
