To many people, automotive electrical systems and testing are a big mystery. It is not as complicated as you might think.
This 28 minute on demand video manual will take you through the step-by-step procedure for taking the upper (motor section) of a short MFI fuel pump apart and replacing three o-rings that are prone to hardening and leaking fuel.
To many people, automotive electrical systems and testing are a big mystery. It is not as complicated as you might think.
These instructions pertain only to the multi pin plug switch on the back of the ignition lock and key assembly.
These early “short style” electric fuel pumps are very prone to leaking fuel because the rubber case o-ring seals harden with age. New pumps are no longer available and rebuilt are VERY expensive! If you risk buying a used one it will probably end up leaking or seeping fuel too.
Only one is available as shown. Good used condition with only very slight scoring ( no deep gouges ) on the aluminum sections. Good impeller with no broken vanes. If you need a reseal kit see related products below:
MFI (mechanical fuel injection) fuel pumps are notorious for leaking fuel. Leaks are almost always due to age hardened and deformed o-rings inside the pump. Taking the pump off the car, taking it apart, cleaning it and installing new seals will almost always solve the fuel leak problems.
I can now offer a unique digital meter and several attachments in a convenient carrying case that I can grab and go with anytime. Are you tired of fussing with your standard meter straight-tip probes? I think they are worthless.

This is a selection of used parts removed from a 1972 280SE sedan. No specific description will be given for each part. There is no guarantee that all the parts will fit the described vehicle (mistakes can happen). Study the picture carefully. What you see is exactly what you will receive.
Yes, there may be a fuse inside or outside your fuse box that controls your heater blower motor or another high amp draw electrical component. Most of the separate fuse holders require a 30 amp fuse. You may find a funny looking bent fuse inside your fuse box.
50 amp fuses were used on most 123 240D diesel glow plug systems due to the lower amp draw. 80 amp fuses will also work but some may choose to go with original spec. Check the number on the center of the fuse you are currently using. It should read either 50 or 80.

This is a very good used factory instruction card for the early cruse control operation on 107 114 115 116 123 chassis. If you are looking for an addition to your book set on your early Mercedes this originally came in the glove box to explain how to operate the cruse control stalk.

Sometimes you need the extra heat! Like when replacing heater motor brushes.
Tired of lugging around heavy batteries or battery boosters to test electrical components in your car? It does not have to be a Mercedes. It does not even have to be a car. Anything that runs off 12 volt DC power can be tested by these small, light weight but very powerful batteries.
This is such a big problem on the early 1977 to 1979 123 300D, 300CD and 300TD diesels that I decided a good replacement kit was in order. Often I find the main feed wire loose or frayed, the fuse box cracked or melted, and the fuse connector points corroded or loose.
This is another small "frustration" for W123 diesel owners. The fuse box cover is mounted flat to the firewall behind and to the left of the brake booster. You can not just pull it straight out nor can you just push it straight back on.
Fits chassis 116 123 126 124 and 201 Diesels with pencil glow plugs, from 1978 to 1989. This includes the OM617, OM601, OM602, and OM603 engines. They also work on 1977 to 1979 300D 300CD and 300TD with series glow plugs. This pack includes three individual fuses.
Works on most 116, early 107, 114, 115 and early 123 models from the early 70s up to the end of the 1970s. This is a replacement for the Bosch rectangular voltage regulator (see image below) those cars that use an internal voltage regulator.
When replacing the steering lock assembly in your Benz you will need to remove that little black plastic switch on the side of the lock from the old one and put it on the new part. You can not pry it off, squeeze it off or pull it off by hand.
Looking for better-staring performance? Are your glow system lights not coming on on your dash even after replacing the glow plugs? It it taking way too long for the glow light to go out ( it should only be on 5 to 10 seconds)?
An annoying problem on many older Mercedes up to 1980 that have an aluminum housing surrounding the turn signal arm latching assembly. When these wear out the lever will not hold position when you push it up or down.
The voltage regulator is a very inexpensive part that usually wears out between 110,000 to 130,000 miles. It is often neglected and Kent believes many alternators have been replaced over the years when all they needed was a $25 to $30 voltage regulator!!!
Brand new OE Genuine Mercedes battery tray for your 123 chassis all models 1977 to 1985.
If there is a lot of rust under your tray be sure and check out our Miracle Paint to seal the rust forever!
If your engine temperature gauge is not reading at all, you need to fix it before you keep driving the car. To ignore this could lead to major engine failure, since you will have no way to get an adequate warning that your engine is about to overheat.
As these popular six cylinder engines age we are finding they need more than just a set of plugs and normal tune up. To run smoothly and produce the power they had when new, they really need our ULTIMATE tune up kit and instructions.
FITS THE FOLLOWING: 1985 to 1993 W124, W126, and W201 chassis with a 6 cylinder 103 engine. Is your M103 six cylinder engine not running as smoothly as it use to. These wires should be changed at 70,0000 to 80,000 miles for smooth running and peak performance.
If your rear door power window is not moving or the motor is not making any noise, it could be a failed motor, rear door switch, front switch or even a wiring problem. Trying to narrow down the problem can be frustrating unless you know the proper troubleshooting sequence.
We only have a few of these custom machined early 300SD steering locks left. LIMIT ONE per customer. We have been informed that there is no plan to manufacture new steering locks again for these classic old diesels
The original screws in these pumps get pretty nasty looking over time. When you try to clean them will a wire wheel the plating will be completely removed and the heads will rust again pretty quickly. Now you can install new original looking yellow zink plated screws and washers.
Kent explains why it is important to to remove and open up the motor assembly anytime you are replacing a damaged cable. On the bench he explains the workings of the motor and transmission and shows close up examples of what each of the different components do.
