We cut steel every day in my shop. My chop saw runs a few hours every day. Speed is important as well as the cleanliness of the cut. We have tried a lot of cutoff wheels in the past and found very quickly that not all are created equal. Of course you can "clean" the edge of the blade to increase performance, but that takes time if you have to do it constantly.
