Product Details
With the long lead provided (14.5 feet) you can hook up to your car battery and go around the car and test the operation of various electrical components. Kent decided to test its maximum reach. You can hook it up to the battery in the front, and it is long enough to test and power up an antenna in the trunk. What we particularly like about this tester is that the probe tip and clamp are small enough that you can test very small components like dash bulbs, shown below. Sure beats carrying around a battery or booster pack with jumper leads attached to do your testing!
The unit comes with written instructions and can do the following tests when hooked up to our cars battery:
- Power any electrical component with a motor to check for proper operation
- Test lighting circuits
- Test continuity in a wire
- Test for short circuits
- Test for bad grounds
- Locate faulty fuses and circuits
- Test for polarity on a plug

It even has a light that lets you work in dark places.
