123 Front Spring installation

Help! I have bought new front springs for my 85 300d. I am having a local garage install them, and they cannot keep them from bowing sideways when they release the compressor. They are at a loss. any suggestions?

Who sold you the springs

Who sold you the springs and are you sure they are the correct ones? Are they aftermarket or OE? Is the shop using the proper spring compressor (specific for Mercedes Benz)?

OEM springs

Yes they are OEM springs. The shop, however is not using a compressor specific for Mercedes Benz.

Correct Spring Compressor

From my experience it is very difficult and downright dangerous to try to install front diesel springs without the Mercedes spring compressor. Do a google search to see what they look like. Expensive I know, but you may be able to find a site that would rent one.
