I just did a valve adjustment on my 80 300SD. None of the valves had enough clearance when I started so they were all adjusted following your guide and using your valve adjustment tools. I got everything back together and the engine started fine, actually it seems to fire up a bit more quickly.
My question is about a new noise that I can hear. It sounds like it's coming from inside the valve train and I'm thinking it's normal if the valves are adjusted correctly. I always feel nervous that I may have done something not quite right, but I was very careful and thorough in the adjusting procedure and I had a helper. The best I can decribe the sound is that it sound the a light constant rattle? Just looking for peace of mind since this is my first time doing a valve adjustment. Thanks.
