Kick down for transmission

My 1979 300SD Turbo has a rebuild transmission, a new kick down switch and still will not downshift. Any suggestions??? Fusebox has been checked, and linkage adjusted. What is the approximate cost for a valve adjustment on the above model car??

Troubleshooting kick down switch / diesel valve adjustment

The first thing you need to do is determine if 12 volt power is getting to the kickdown solenoid on the right front side of the transmission. Remove the black wire from the terminal. Have someone inside the car turn the key on and push the throttle pedal down hard (all the way to the floor). You should get 12 volts at the end of this wire using a voltmeter or test light. If you don't then you will have to trace back why? Bad floor switch, bad wire, corrosion at fuse, etc. If you do have power at the end of the wire, then the solenoid switch on the transmission is probably bad. If the solenoid proves to be ok then there is something wrong inside the transmission.
