Replacing Entire Injector vs. Just the Nozzles

How does one know whether to replace the entire injector versus just replacing the nozzles?? Do the nozzles wear out before the springs and other internal components of the injectors? Any thoughts? Thanks, Justin. 92 300D 2.5 L (daily driver) 85 300D 298k mi ("money pit")

Hi Justin, I have never seen any of the other parts of the Bosch injectors wear out. In fact most of the injectors we sell are rebuilt with probably only the nozzle changed, other parts inspected and cleaned, and the proper release pressure adjusted. If you buy just the nozzles and have to take the injectors to a Bosch service center to have tested and adjusted you may end up paying more money than just buying rebuilts in the first place.
