I've got a non-turbo 190D, 1986, 255k, that was running well. I had some small leaks on the top of the injector pump, so I replaced the orings/seals. After reassembling it, I had a major Knock at just above idle to 1500 or so, and no power/more smoke, as well as an "up and down" idle. I then pulled all the injectors, cleaned them, pressure tested(all from 1600 to 1700), and put a new monark nozzle in #3.
This didn't solve anything, knock is still there, maybe slightly worse.
I've replaced both fuel filters. I've run diesel purge through the system, which does quiet it down. But it comes back when on the main system.
Any ideas where to go from here? Should I replace the knozzles? Could I have messed up the delivery valve seal setup(not sure how, but).
