Just a little note acknowledging your ideas on the diesel survival kit. Having had a couple of turbodiesels for a number of years, you are right on the money with your recommendation. If you have the knowledge and facilities to acquire the parts wholesale and do alot of the work on them, they can be very good long term cars. We have our son driving an '84 SD. They don't get much safer than a big german sedan. I drove a 300D Turbo for several years until some joker totalled it out for me. I'm sure many people appreciate your words of wisdom on maintaining these old cars. But, just in case you don't hear it much... keep up the good work.
