Universal Bosch CIS Fuel Injection Tester for Most 1976 to 1993 models with K-Jetronic or KE-Jetronic

For odd ball EURO Model Mercedes, Ferrari, Porsche, DeLorean, and VW Bosch CIS Fuel Injection Pressure Tester - NRTU - NO DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS

This kit requires prior knowledge of Bosch CIS or a willingness to learn on your own. It may also require that you "fabricate" a fitting or two for your own engine. The challenge of getting my tester to work on these engines comes down to the required attachment fittings. The tester itself will work on any Bosch CIS fuel-injected engine IF you can get it properly connected to the fuel-injection system. Some of the engines use some weird fittings, so you may have to fabricate your own to make it work on your particular engine. You will receive two complimentary videos with this kit that you can view on your computer while logged into your account. One will show an example of hooking up to a K-Jetronic engine, and the other will show an example of hooking the tester up to a KE-Jetronic engine. NRTU means NOT READY TO USE out of the box. Watch the video below BEFORE you even consider buying this tester. I will explain the challenge here.

These are the fittings I include to help you make ones that will work on your engine. The video here is all the instructions you will receive. No instructions are included for your specific engine, as explained in the video. Kent will attach his instructional video on hooking up his tester to a Mercedes M110 engine, so you will have a basic understanding of how to connect it to a Mercedes engine for fuel system pressure testing.

One end of each of these fittings has a M12x1.5 thread. That is the size needed to attach to the ends of the hoses on our tester.

Kent also includes these fittings below for standard Mercedes V8 K-jetronic engines from 1976 to 1985 and KE-Jetronic 6-cylinder and V8 engines from 1986 to 1993. For 4-cylinder engines, you may have to fabricate your own from other fittings in the kit.

The stainless steel gauge is liquid-filled, which provides better accuracy, as well as protects the sensitive mechanism from abuse. Do not rest the gauge on the engine while testing; hang it off the engine somewhere in the engine compartment for viewing. Note that the gauge is not full of liquid, and that is normal. There must be some air in the gauge to allow the needle to move freely.

Kent has eliminated the quick-disconnect fitting at the tee on the lower hose. Quick-disconnect fittings have proven problematic over time. You will still be able to disconnect the gauge. When you screw it down onto the long hose, tighten it only finger-tight; do not use a wrench or pliers, or you'll damage the seal.

Regarding the bottle attached to the tester. This is to allow you to release pressure and fuel from the tester BEFORE you disconnect it from the engine. Please keep the bottle upright while doing this, as there is a very small hole under the cap that allows the bottle to vent pressure. If you lay the bottle on its side, it can leak fuel out very slowly.

If you need detailed instructions or would like to have additional testing add-ons, please consider purchasing one of our advanced kits listed below.
