High-quality fuel filter for your later model R107 SL. With the right tools and knowledge, you may not need to drain your fuel tank to replace this filter ( replacement should be every 30,000 miles for peak performance. Watch Kent's video below for installation tips.
In this video, Kent will show you how to safely and cleanly remove the fuel from the tank on your older Benz. You will need to drain the fuel anytime you replace the back end hoses, the tank filter screen, the fuel pump or the fuel filter.
Video instructions that come free of charge with the purchase of Kent's special tool to remove 107 fuel tank screens. This video will NOT be of much help if you do not purchase the tool, but it is being offered for anyone who would like to view it regardless. Total run time:
For many years, we were receiving frantic requests from customers asking for help with removing the fuel tank filter screen from their 1971 to 1989 350SL, 450SL, 380SL, 500SL, or 560SL (the same issue also applies to all SLC coupes). Until recently, we did not have a solution other than to tell
Works on the following: 6 cylinder gas MFI engines 1959 to 1972, 6.3 and diesel engines 200D 220D 240D 300D 300TD 300CD and 300SD through 1985.
This easy-to-install kit could do wonders for your older diesel engine. The lift pump is almost always forgotten when it comes to maintenance on the OM616 and OM617 engines.
Kent has sourced 2 special Viton o-rings for the outer pump housing on these early djetronic Bosch electric fuel pumps. There are two orings that harden with age causing the pump to leak fuel at the outer end of the pump.
This is a perfect fit for the O.E. copper sealing ring. You only need one but we sell these as a set of two so you will have a spare.
This is where this sealing ring is located. On top of the fuel injection lift pump and at the base of the hand primer pump:
Only one is available as shown. Good used condition with only very slight scoring ( no deep gouges ) on the aluminum sections. Good impeller with no broken vanes. If you need a reseal kit see related products below:
This is a "must-have" kit when adjusting release "pop" pressures on older diesel mechanical fuel injectors. It is the internal spring "shim" thickness that determines the exact pressure required for the release of fuel at the tip of the injector.
If you acquire an older Mercedes diesel and want to test those large Bosch injectors with your V3 gasoline bench tester, you will need 4 things to complete the conversion: 3000 PSI gauge, our new capture bottle to hold the larger injectors, injector sealing kit, and Kent’s written manual and vid
We know that many of you own multiple Mercedes, including both gas and diesel models. If you own one of Kent’s fuel injector pressure testers you no doubt will want to test all your applicable mechanical fuel injectors in both types of older engines.

Introductory video
In this short video, Kent will give you an overview on setting up and using Version 3 of his bench mount CIS gasoline injector pressure tester.
This video is specifically for setting up and using Kent's newest version of his diesel fuel injector bench mount tester. It does not contain any information on the actual process of cleaning or rebuilding a fuel injector.
This is for number FOUR cylinder on the four and five-cylinder engines. No leaks. It may need to be straightened slightly for installation.
This is for number THREE cylinder on the four and five-cylinder engines. No leaks. It may need to be straightened slightly for installation.
This is for number TWO cylinder on the four and five-cylinder engines. No leaks. It may need to be straightened slightly for installation.
This is for the number one cylinder on the four and five-cylinder engines. No leaks. It may need to be straightened slightly for installation.
Fits the following: All 5 cylinder diesel engines from 1975 to 1985. For 300D 300TD 300CD 300SD, PDF instructions included. This is the critical inside wear part of the injector that delivers the fuel spray into the cylinder. These are direct replacement new fuel injector nozzles from Bosch.
Fits the following: All 4 cylinder diesel engines from 1968 to 1985, including 201 Chassis 190D 2.2. For 220D 240D and 190D 2.2 Engines - FREE heat shield washers - PDF download instructions included.
NOTE: Ships UPS ground only. Select ground for entire order to save in shipping costs. I am a great fan of LubroMoly products.
This is the best tool to use when installing or removing the Monark hand primer pump. PLEASE NOTE. This is 19mm and will NOT work on the Bosch hand primer pump or other style pumps (most others are 17 mm).
This is a brand new Genuine Mercedes check valve for the fuel injection pump on 4 and 5 cylinder diesels 1977 to 1985. 2 new copper sealing rings are included. This valve is mounted on inside of pump in the fuel line going to the filter.
This 24 minute on demand training video comes with our injector back flush cleaning kit. You can purchase this video separately, but please keep in mind you will not have any of the tools or supplies to complete this procedure yourself.
With these old gas fuel injectors, sometimes you just have to "back flush" the insides to restore them to peak performance. There is no guarantee that back flush cleaning will restore every old gasoline mechanical fuel injector. Some are just plain worn out.
These early “short style” electric fuel pumps are very prone to leaking fuel because the rubber case o-ring seals harden with age. New pumps are no longer available and rebuilt are VERY expensive! If you risk buying a used one it will probably end up leaking or seeping fuel too.
This 28 minute on demand video manual will take you through the step-by-step procedure for taking the upper (motor section) of a short MFI fuel pump apart and replacing three o-rings that are prone to hardening and leaking fuel.
This video is included free with the purchase of our check valve overhaul kit. Please see related products below
This is something many owner's and mechanics miss. That little check valve on the side of the injection pump can cause a lot of starting problems on the older diesels.
When any part of the overboost protection system fails, your turbo diesel engine can lose power or start to smoke too much.
Want to get more power our of your 5 cylinder OM617 turbo diesel? Maybe you will like to reduce the dark smoke coming out the tail pipe during heavy acceleration?

Here is a wrench I should have made 15+ years ago. I can not believe how much time and frustration I would have saved over the years working on all those 100's of Mercedes diesel engines if I would have done it!
The FLOW pressure method can be used to both check and set injection pump timing. Personally, Kent likes to use this method only when checking if the I.P. needs adjustment.
The FLOW or low pressure method of checking and adjusting injection pump timing does not require a separate pressure tank. With this method you use the hand primer pump to pump up pressure in the injection pump to get fuel to flow out of the half round drip tube included in this kit.
If you have had to remove any of the banjo bolts you can see that those sealing rings are getting quite old... when you see scoring in the ring the ring appears to be crushed, they should be replaced to prevent leaks and to prevent air from getting into the fuel lines.
Good used injector housing for parts or for rebuilding. Does NOT include the nozzle. This is a core part only and will not work in the engine without new nozzle installed.
This is a collection of SPECIAL tools Kent has put together to help you grab, twist, and pull on things in and around your Mercedes. He makes each one of these tools right here in his shop.
Kent put together the three most important products you will need to use his pressurized method of setting the critical timing on your diesel engine injection pump. This is often negelected and when corrected can lead to faster starts, better fuel economy and less engine smoke.
This one hour long on demand video is included free with the purchase of Kent's OM61x injection pump timing kit. The method he teaches uses his own kit, his custom built pressure tank, and his special IP snake wrench.
Another wrench designed by Kent Bergsma and born out of frustration. This could be the weirdest wrench anywhere in the world! While shooting a video on adjusting the injection pump timing on an older Mercedes diesel Kent ran into a big problem.
Fits the following: These nozzles fit 1986 to 1993 603 Engines and 1987 (only) 124 chassis 300D and 300TD. Also fits 1994-1995 S350 ONLY. This is the critical inside wear part of the injector that delivers the fuel spray into the cylinder.
This unique tank not only functions as an emergency fuel tank, but it can also serve to help troubleshoot diesel engine performance problems as well as complete a clean and efficient diesel purge.
33 page digital PDF manual. Applies to all 110 115 116 123 126 201 124 140 diesels from 1961 to 1994. From my many years of working professionally on Mercedes diesels I have learned fuel injectors are the single most neglected maintenance item. I believe there are a number of reasons for this.
The original fuel lines on most late 70s and early 80s Mercedes Diesels were braided line and with age they do rot and develop slow leaks.
Installation instructions specific for 123 / 126 chassis only - general for other chassis. Details included on how to make your own fuel tank outlet hose and fitting with materials supplied in the Flexible Fuel Line Replacement kit.
This repair guide covers all 124 sedans and wagons 260E, 300D, 300E, 300TD, 300TE, 400E and 500E 1986 to 1993. Removing a 124 chassis sedan or door panel and doing related door maintenance and repair are all fairly easy jobs for the do-it-yourselfer.
