This appears to have been a replacement several years back, almost like new. The rubber on the tips and in the hole is fully intact, and the ball is soft and undamaged. Look at the cadmium plating! Hard to find a better one. Check your throttle linkage movement at the firewall. Shake it up and down. You may not get full power if it rattles, which means the bushing is worn out.

In some cases, the rubber can break away, and you will lose throttle control. The ball and all the normal rubber wear parts on this one are not cracked. The slotted edge rubber and the rubber in the shaft hole are good. This one did get cleaned up and repainted, as you can see in the picture. The shaft has been lubricated by Kent.
