water pump removal and replacement 1985 380se?

n/a i tried to remove water pump but was unable to remove a bolt that is behind the harmonic balancer. is there a special tool for this or do you have to remove the radiator and the harmonic balancer to get to that bolt?

i need to replace my water pump. i could not get at the last bolt located behind the harmonic balancer. is ther a tool to do this or do you have to remove the radiator and harmonic balancer to get at that bolt? any other suggestions?

Check factory recommended procedure

I am not sure on that particular year and I do not have a factory manual handy. I would recommend you get the factory procedure either on CD or paper before you plunge ahead.
