I got some problems with my 87 300e:
It starts good and has good throttle response in "Park". As soon as you put it in Drive there is no/very slow response and the car just does not accelerate from especially a stop.MAx speed varies from 25 -40 mph., RPM don't go over 2000.
Everyone is telling me that these engines will run 2-300.000 miles, but at this speed it might take me another 25 yrs.to get there....
So far I have replaced distributor cap/rotor, new plugs and wires,2 new fuel pumps,new fuel collector, replaced ECU and I am about to replace the fuel distributor.The last 2 shops I brought it to had no idea what could be wrong with it. The entire electrical system was checked and seemed ok. Then it was suggested to replace the ECU and Fuel distributor.ECU was replaced, but did not change anything.
I am not a very technical guy so please keep it simple. Any other suggestions.
