Heater and Tach problem for a 1982 300 CD TD

I found no repair Manuals and/or Diagnostic Guides to diagnose my AC/Heater and Tach problem. My heater does not come on when I want it to come on. Most of the time, nothing. I would press the buttons on the climate control and hear contacts, I would roll the temp setting wheel and hear contacts in AC as well in heating. I have source parts and like to repair it myself. I am willing to do a rebuilt, if possible. The Tach either jump around or does not work or works normally, mostly jumps around. This bothers me I am a happy and a week old newbe owner of No rust (I really mean no rust), cream puff, low milage (225,000 KM) original, mint MB 1982 300 CD TD. It was a lucky find. This is my first MB and diesel car. The car looks and drives like a 3-4 year old car, not a 25+ car. My goal is to keep it looking and running this good for another 25yrs. work done -replace the crappy sealbeam headlight to a Hella halogen 7" conversion. Its worth it, period! other issues -slow power sunroof. -take care of it when the weather gets better.-order one of your kit -One slow window motor. -Order one your repair maunal. -replacing fog light to a modern fog lamp. -still sourcing -rear trunk lock need repair or replaced. -still sourcing -Power antena needs replacing or rebuilt. -sourced -sound system need to replace. -upgrade but no modifications. -replace air filter on next tune up to a free flow, eg K&N -sourced -improvement with the instrument panal lighting -How did MB allow this to happen- still sourcing - After all the issue are done, my new baby is going to get a matching, talor made, New Zealand sheepskin seat cover,as a reward- sourced. Thats it Best regards Rudy New Westminster,B.C. Canada
