Electric windows and major electrical shut down...

My 300D's blinkers and windows suddenly don't operate. There is an electrical shut down. The tachometer, gas gauge, blinkers, windows, emergency lights don't work. They all shut down at once while I was operating the vehicle. Other things like radio, wipers, clock, fan, a/c work fine. Any suggestions would be helpful. Has this happened to you?

My window functions down

My window functions down too. Was troubleshooting wires to an old alarm in my glovebox. Fixed my greasecar sytem circuit but now the windows are dead. I have all the other things you mentioned working so it cant be your fuse.

Windows wont work easy fix.

Ok I had the same problem and here is what I found. First get the Chiltons or Hayes repair manual, as well as any manuals or electrical trouble shooting info from this sites store. Most all of your problems would be addressed in these places and without proper info you'll get nowhere. Trust me on this. In my 82 300D Turbo the blinkers didn't work as well as problems with the windows. In my Mercedes repair manual they had the wiring diagram ( if you don't understand wiring diagrams get someone who does and does well ) I found that the lights were wired though the Hazzard switch ( of all the darn places ). Guess were the hazzard switch is? Next to the window switches. Ok, it took a few minutes to figure out were they hid all the screws that hold on the console pannel and all that. Once off the hazzard switch came out and amazingly I was able to pull it appart and clean it up. ( electrical contacts were dirty like water or something spilt down there, also rocker switch was broken so I now use a small screwdriver to actuate hazzard switch ). Carefull because there are tiny springs and contacts in there and once lost or if you can't figure how they go back together your buying a new switch. Once cleaned up and back together the blinkers once again worked. As for the windows the connectors to the switches were just disconnected or dirty. I pulled them on and off a few times, hooked them back up and all was well. Now before all this I first checked the fuse box and blinker reley but all was well with those. Check them first and then dig deeper. Haven't had to purchase electrical parts yet but be ready to replace things if they don't work or if you break something. Good luck!
