I have a 1984 300D 123 chas that I was replacing the rear Axles on. I ran into a problem. I did a rush job while trying to take the right rear axle out. I took the tire off, then removed the 13mm long screw from the center of the hub, then I messed up when I tried knocking the Axle Shaft out with a crow bar. The curved crow bar banged into the grooves of the Axle Shaft Flange. So when i try to put the new axle on it wont go, because I destroyed the grooves.
Well good thing theres a salvage yard, a huge one by me that has plenty of the same car. Now,,,, heres my reaaaaall problem. I have to take the axle flange off to replace it with one from the bone yard, but how? I've looked all over. I cant find specific info to do that. I did find some info on a tool that I need to take the Axle Flange off with. It's called a Pin Wrench Socket tool number M20051, or sometimes M915-0207. It's used for removing the grooved nut on rear Axle Shaft Flange. This nut is on the inner side of the wheel hub. Ok cool i will order the tool, but is this all that i will need to take the flange out? Or do i need some special tool to press the flange out. Or will it just pull out with a little pressure. How do I get the flange off after I've removed the grooved nut? Thanks.
