Fixing up 78 240D - where do I start?

Hey everyone, So this is my story and I'll try to keep it as brief as possible. I recently bought a 78 240d though an auction on ebay, pretty much sight unseen. This is my first mercedes, let alone a diesel. The car is pretty solid for what I gave for it, hardly any real serious rust, body is actully real straight, and besides a couple of small items everything seems to work. I bought the car knowing it didn't run but they said it had ran a couple of moths previously, before a cold snap had hit and then it wouldn't start, guess I should say I got the car from Colville Wa, it gets pretty cold up there in the winter, We live in kalama wa, so I figured just gettin it to the warm side of the mountains would help, and it did. With a little fiddling around and a new battery and cables (big 2/0 copper heavy bastards)I got it to start, pretty rough at first, but it smoothed right out. I took it for a couple of test drives but it was still hard to start each time I'd try to fire it up, I think it just needs a good going through. So here is the Question, "where do i start?" Do you guys maybe sell or recommend a good manual that can show me what steps I need to take to get this baby back in good order? I figure that it should be tuned up before I even think about a WVO conversion. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Mark
