How do I disconnect, turn off, or otherwise disable the burglar alarm in my 1985 300SD ? I had to go through deep water (8"+) at slow speed. Shortly thereafter, when I turn on the lights at all, the burglar alarm goes off and lights flash. This is embarrassing, at the least, to drive at night, so presently I have just parked it in the garage until I can solve it. I tried the driver door key lock/unlock - no difference. After setting over a week in my garage to dry out completely - no difference. I live in rural N.W. Indiana and there is really no need for the burglar alarm. How can I remove it from the electrical system so I can drive the car again and night time driving is as before?
