I wanted to ask you guys about a specific problem I am having that has me concerned. A few weeks ago I replace the motor mounts, engine shocks and oil cooler hoses. I felt compelled to replace the motor mounts and engine shocks because engine shake caused the whole car to vibrate, especially when at a stop light. I then noticed that the circular pulley on the front of the engine was wobbling as it rotated. I have been reading Kent's material and I am beginning to suspect one of these things is going on:
1. Loose front crank bolt
2. The rack damper needs adjusting/replacing
Some other information: I have yet to do a valve adjustment; looking for time. There are some issues with the vacuum system because the engine doesn't want to shut off unless I rev up the engine just a little bit first after pulling out the key. The transmission shifts hard, especially in the lower gears but I recently replaced the shift valve dashpot and I find that when I have the A/C on, it shifts smoother on those lower gears especially when I am accelerating faster.
What I am looking for is some advice and recommendations for the shaking engine and if those two things I suggested are the likely cause.
Thanks for your time!
Sam
