MY 1983 Mercedes 300CD TurboDiesel AC produces no air flow at the vent. I have rebuilt the motor, new brushes and it works beautifully. I tried reversing the wiring at the plug under the dash and that produced less pressure. I measured the flow by taking the motor fan out of its housing and turning in on and it is still fine and produces a good
fan noise when in the housing.
Next I checked all the vents and only the center vent needed a connection. Now they all work and work correctly according to the the CC control sequence. All tested well.
Still no flow at the vent only a whisper of air.
Then I used a fiber optic camera and light pushing it up above the evaporator and as far into the vent housing as I could and there is no obvious obstruction in the vents or housings. No rags left behind.
Much of the system ahead of the dash has been rebuilt and brought to new standards.
Now I am perplexed. I asked my mechanic to take a look and he went over everything I had done and 2.5 hours later he came away as perplexed as I.
This process has been a 6 month effort, on and off, with very little accomplished except for a strong blower motor and that is all good. Does anyone have a clue as to what we may hav missed? I want to use it this summer for a long road trip, but not sans AC.
Thanks,
