Removing the Rear Trunk Emblems

On 1973 to 1985 models this has to be done with care to prevent damage

From the early 1970's to the mid 1980s Mercedes attached emblems to most trunks with plastic pins that fit tight into little nylon gromments that are attached to the trunk. When these gromments age they shrink making it very difficult to remove some left or right side model and engine designations.

Kent has seen so many damaged and bent emblems that he decided to do a short video manual on the procedure he uses to remove and replace the emblems (see related products_. Yes you do have to be careful when you put them back on too. How many of you have seen kinked or bent eblems like the one below. 

Why would you want to remove your emblems if they are in good conditon. Removing them is the best way to clean and detail the trunk surface behind the emblem!
