Anyone with a later 201 or 124 chassis knows the routine. Suddenly the alarm goes off for no apparent reason and you have to close and frantically start locking and unlocking the door. You may have even had to open the hood and disconnect the battery because the loud blasting noise is so embarassing!
Problem & Solution
Common among these chassis:
On the earlier generation you can just disconnect the horn. That does not keep the lights from flashing but at least it kills that obnoxious noise. In the later series that does not help much since when the alarm goes off you can not start the car.
