If you are interested in this transmission, please do not try to check out. Contact us via email to arrange payment and pickup. Please note: I will only sell this transmission to a knowledgeable W123 Mercedes turbo diesel enthusiast who plans to install it himself. Replacing a transmission in these old diesels. It's only half of the equation getting it to shift properly; having a full understanding of all the vacuum controls and cables that control the shift quality and shift points is a challenge. I will not sell this transmission to someone who's gonna have a shop install it because they usually don't get this right.
Product Details
I drove this transmission for over two years in a high-mileage 1983 300 D with 250,000 miles. Each time I drove the car. I marveled at how well the transmission shifted. There was no sloppy response, no slipping, no jerking, and no delay in engagement. To me, it was a mystery on why this transmission was so good at that kind of mileage. When I had to part out the car due to a major engine problem. I discovered that this was not the original transmission. I could see the paint markings on it from a wrecking yard, and from how clean it was and the condition of all the cadmium plating, I knew this was a low-time replacement.
You can watch two YouTube videos here that will walk you through a thorough inspection I did on the transmission, as well as a short video on everything I did and what I will include.
