1982 to 1995 Transmission Dip Stick Fill Tube Seal Installation - On Demand Video

Video instructions on how to repair one of the more common transmission fluid leaks

In this 5 and a half minute video Kent will show you how to replace the o-ring seal at the base of the dip stick / fill tube going into the automatic transmission case on the right side. This is a very common leak area and it is easy to be fooled in thinking the leak is coming from the transmission pan gasket.

PLEASE NOTE: These instructions are general in nature with the procedure show on a transmission sitting on the work bench. On some models you will not have much room to work on getting access to the bolt hold the tube to the transmission case. That makes it very difficult to film the procedure with the transmission in the car. Kent explains tips on different ways to get to this bolt and remove it in the tight spaces you may find yourself working in. No specific instructions are included for specific chassis or models since this style of transmission was installed in the late R107 and late W123, the W126, the W201, the W124 and early models of the R129 and W140.
