Understanding how an inside rear view mirror is mounted is essential for proper removal and replacement. The mirror can be easily damaged if you do not know the tricks to getting it snapped back into the mounting bracket in the head liner. In this video instruction Kent explains how the mirror mount works, how to get it off without breaking it and his personal favorite trick to getting the mirror locked back in place quickly.
This procedure applies to all models with spring mounted inside mirrors from 1962 to 1995. Mercedes used the same design for years. Once you know how to do it properly it is a snap.
Related Repair Details NOT included: Does not cover how to fix a broken mirror or how to replace the glass.
