All W116 gas models from 1973 to 1980 including the 6.9 and W123 280E and 280CE only.

It has now become essential that you replace this filter screen on these old cars, especially if they have been using gasoline with ethanol in it and the car has sat or sits for long periods without running. This screen will plug up and you will have all kinds of fuel related performance problems. It is located under the car at the bottom of the fuel tank where the fuel outlet comes out.

The best way to remove it is why our special screen socket ( see below).  Sometimes it is very hard to loosen up and remove. Just be sure to totally drain you tank of fuel before attempting removal.  Do it outside with a fire extinguisher close by.
