300d crooked front wheels

I just bought a 79 300d. The front wheels are 'kicked out' at the bottom. I think it has to be a front end issue........but I can't find anything loose. Anyone with experience with this chassis have any ideas of where I should be looking?

Possible causes

Your front end has either been damaged in a previous accident, is extremely out of alignment, or the bushings/ball joints (both upper and lower) are severely worn.

I recommend you take the car to a good front end shop and have them inspect the alignment on their rack. They will be able to quickly tell you which of the above are the real problem. We have all the replacement front end parts at discount prices. If the front end needs rebuilding ask the shop if you can suppy the parts.

Thanks Kent..........that was the conclusion we have come to as well. I believe this car has been sitting for a while (probably with all the weight on the springs). I could only find one ball joint with a bit of play, everything else seemed tight.

I suspect the springs have settled, and the car probably still has the factory alignment.........done when the springs were new.

You would DEFINTELY think something was ready to fall off if you could see the car!
