123 240D heater control frozen

The left hand heater control knob on my '83 240D is stuck tight! Any suggestions?

I have seen this problem before. I would start by removing the panel to get to the cable that runs from the control knob to the heater box. These cables can become frozen due to age and lack of lubricant. You may be able to free up the cable with rust penetrant or it may have to be replaced. I think I have some good used cables available. Email sales@mercedessource.com
