Would it be possible to pull the clock apart from the tachometer/clock combo out of any W124 300E (or any other W124 for that matter) and cobble it together with the correct tachometer from my 1992 300D?
Can they be separated? And if so are the different models' clusters compatible in this way?
My clock is burned out, but the tach works fine - and it's very tough to find a correct tach/clock combo for the '92 300D since they're so rare. But I've really been missing having a working clock! I already have Kent's Instrument Cluster Manual as far as R&R goes, BTW... I'm just going a little more in-depth with this question, I believe. ;-)
