91 350SDL -- oil in the intake manifold

I found that there is a lot of engine oil droplets coming into the intake manifold...and think it must be bad oil seals in the turbo.

I am working through 350SDL issues and found the solid hose broken that goes between the air intake (pressure side) and the mechanical accuator that opens the waste-gate. I am assuming that this has caused the previous drivers to drive it over-pressured. Would that impact the turbo oil seals so that they could now be leaking into the intake air? Are there other things I should check knowing this has happened?

Besides finding the right solid hose replacement, is their a DIY seal rebuild kit that I could use with the turbo or is there something else that is a better recommendation?

Check breather first

These engines are a little notorious for blowing compression by the piston rings. It will then move out through the breather and take oil particles with in back into the air intake.

To test - rig up an extension hose from the breather into a can or plastic bottle and drive the car for a while to see how much oil is collecting in the container. There is no cure for this other than overhauling the engine.

I know of no DIY turbo rebuild kits readily available.

I will check the breather. I had earlier thought it could not be this because when I just loosened the cap on the valve cover I felt no pressure against my fingers and when I took the cap all the way off I was not getting any oil droplet spraying out. I will confirm by putting the line into a bottle.
