I just got kent's nifty door panel remover manual and got to work on both my rear doors. neither of the rear electric windows work. i discovered that the aluminum window regulators are totally warped-so much so that on one side the motor was jammed and on the other the teeth on the regulator are worn way down. they were even really, really hard to get out of the door 'cause they are so bent. thankfully, both the motors seem to work, now that they are free from the jammed, warped mechanism.
i'm thinking of trying to take them to a metal shop and have them heated and re flattened. does this sound viable? they are supposed to be perfectly flat, right?
how did this happen? is this a common problem?
