Hi all- just purchased a 1975 240d (115 chassis) which goes down the road fine. The fuel gauge is pegged on near full and never moves, temp gauge works sporadically, oil pressure gauge stays pegged at 45psi when running even at idle, none of the cluster warning lights works except alternator light, speedo works, odometer doesn't, so I need to remove the instrument cluster to start but I can only pull it about an inch or less out of the dash before there is resistance to further movement- is there a 'trick' or something I need to disconnect elsewhere before I can pull it fully out to disconnect everything? I am considering just getting a combo oil pressure/water temp/ charging voltage meter setup in a gauge pod from whitney or something to mount on the dash and just replacing the sending units as well rather than repairing/fault finding or replacing all of the original gauges. Thanks!!!
