1981 SL speed control

Aloha...my 1981 380 SL has a speed control that works about one time in five tries,so I know it is functioning (when it works)...I suspect some sort of vacuam problem....any suggestions?...Hapt

90 percent of the time a malfunctioning cruise control system can be the result of a failed or failing cruise control amplifier. This is a silver box located under your dash. You should get the factory CDs for your SL to help you find and remove it. Unfortunately there is no way to troubleshoot it short of replacing it with a known good unit. Kent
