stuck idle nut 617 diesel

Yeah Kent using your manual,I need to set the idle up. However the lock nut is frozen to the shaft. Can I remove the whole shaft and clean it.Or is there horrible springs and demons attached? Nate

No problem to just remove the shaft, free the nut with the shaft in a vise and clean the threads. It won't bite you...:-)

I thought so Kent,however now my linkage is binding.Or it will stick high,unless a push it back to slow it.Is there a certain way that bolts springing part rides on that linkage? I'll mess with it another day.Look for me soon to buy 5 injectors. Nate

Stuck idle nut

Yes you can remove whole bolt with nut and clean it.However in the bolt which touches throttle, is a spring.I had to clean mine in gas,then lube with oil. Push it up and down in a pan,and see all the rust come out.It will interfere in setting your idle making you think your linkage is binding. I hope Kent adds this to easy fixes.
