I have a 1975 300D it is very difficult to start and when I do get it to start there is a load clacking noise that doesn't change when engine is idle or at higher RPM's. The noise is constant, I have checked for fuel ditribution and it seems fine to the injectors. I wanted to know if it could be a timing issue, when it is running and I shift into drive it dies, and if I don't keep my foot on the pedal it dies. Seems to run rough, This car has sat for a long time and has not been started. The engine dosen't seem to have much power. Thanks in advance for your help.
