Door Locks 93 300D 2.5

After locking my doors with the key all four lock knobs pop open on there own after about 45-60 sec. I can hear a wirring sound comming from the back seat. I am assuming I have a vacuum leak somewhere or a malfunctioned pump under the back seat. Could the door vacuum actuators be faulty? I am trying to keep this simple at first before I need to take the door panels off. Thanks for your help Mike Stillwater, Minnesota

Miracle Paint and a Leaking Radiator

Total KUDOs to the makers of "Miracle Paint"!!!! I went through 2 separate kits of plastic repair stuff on my radiator at the radiator neck. The last person to replace the hose cracked the radiator by pulling side-to-side on the hose. Now I have a seam crack 3" down the side of the plastic housing, and at the inside of the elbow. I decided to try the "Miracle Paint" with the standard fiberglass cloth. - put one coat of paint on the crack + 1" either side of the crack, - allow it to sit 15 minutes, - apply the fiberglass cloth, press it down so that it is tight against the crack and surrounding area, and - apply another coat of "Miracle Paint". - Let it dry overnight - Apply a 3rd and 4th coat of paint and let this dry 12-24 hours between coats.

300D 617.912 engine will not start

I have a two tank SVO system on my Merc with 310,000 Kms on the clock - 100,000 Kms are mine most on SVO. I have never been stumped, held up or broken down before. The engine starts and shuts down on diesel. The problem- I was away for a week and my Merc sat idle. When I came back the Merc started hesitantly (low battery). I drove about 20 Kms and the next day she would not start for love nor money; totally dead. Not even a kick from one cyllinder. I checked; Lift pump ok, replaced with electric lift pump & still no go. IP moving fuel when lines cracked. Cam timing marks and harmonic balancer marks line up ok. Valve clearance not binding, Glow plugs working, has the Mercedessource fast plugs installed. Best thing ever. The injectors were re-newed 8 months ago,

Control Arm Bushing difficulties

I am in the process of replacing the bushings and ball joints on the lower front control arms of my 82 123. While attempting to remove the smaller bushing (connected to the steering rod?) I ran into a wall. Actually, the bolt, which needs to go up, butted in to the spring cup. How do I remove this bolt? Do I need to remove the springs and cup? If so are there any tricks? HELP!

1986 300e rear suspension stomping noise

1986 300e 5 spd.(Manual) car starts to sway and jumps on high speed. I thought that the rear shock was going bad so I bought the bilstien HD shocks for the rear and have it installed in a local repair shop close to my home. Its much stable on the freeway. But when I drive the car I hear stomping noise on left rear when driving on bumps or pot holes. It feels like the shocks are so stiff it sounds like dug dug dug dug it feels the rear is falling apart could it be the installation not installed correctly. The noise was not there before. what part is worned out to make this noise.

103 90' 300E hard to start, idled rough and would quit at stop signs. Frankly, What a piece!

I am posting my condensed experience on this subject to spare other 103 owners from going nuts/broke or both. I bought this PIECE at a good price with the intention of reselling it. It had a "fresh smog certificate" and drove it 300+ miles, I loved and enjoyed the smoothness and I immediatly thought what a great grandmas car(I am a die hard mercedes diesel rattling cage fool: 74 240D 4sp). Anyways the honeymoon stopped abruptly when the car started to show the above symptoms and all other signs of being possessed, I thoght the problem was not "BASIC" tune up related because it flew thru smog.
