Very easy to do if you know what to do with that little numbered black box!
When the check engine light comes on in your older Mercedes there is no need to panic. You can check for a numeric code or codes that tell you why it came on, research and fix the problem yourself and then clear the code(s) so the check engine light goes off. It can all be done from the little black numbered box found in your engine compartment (if you 1988 to 1995 Benz is so equipped).
