SLS Suspension Riding Rough - How to Test Accumulators.

It is possible to test their condition on the car

If your Benz has SLS (self leveling suspension) and you have noticed recently that it is riding differently (more bouncy - less smooth), it may be that the accumulators are worn out (failed internally). These parts are critical to how well the system handles bumps and roughness in the road. Like shock absorbers accumulators can "wear out" in as little as 60,000 to 70,000 miles. Some owners must think they last forever! This is the No. 1 most common failure item on the SLS system. If you neglect replacing them you can damage other more expensive parts of the system.

In the video above Kent (click on the link) will explain how they work, what to expect when they fail, and how to test them on the car. Some of our accumulators come with video instructions on how to replace them yourself.  They are not much more difficult to install than a common gas engine fuel filter.
