New rubber mounts can make a big difference. These high-quality, heavy-duty Meyle mounts can REALLY make a difference. Kent believes their performance is equal to that of the genuine mounts at a much lower cost. Replacing them in an R107 without removing the exhaust manifolds or completely dropping the subframe is a significant challenge without the right knowledge and tools. Watch Kent's YouTube video below as he clearly explains this challenge.

You can buy engine mounts from many vendors, but they won't provide video instructions or custom-made tools to speed up the job. We even INCLUDE new 6mm engine mount bolts! Without the tools Kent has developed, you will become very frustrated trying to get the old mounts out and the new mounts in.
How do you tell if your old mounts are bad? It's very difficult to inspect them visually, as they're hidden under the engine with a metal cover plate on top. With experience, the best way to tell is by feeling the vibration through the chassis when you start the engine. Look at this mount that was removed from this 380 SL from under the car. It looked OK, but upon removal, it completely fell apart.

The access is so limited that, without the special tools, the job could quickly become a very big job.
