Yeah Kent using your manual,I need to set the idle up. However the lock nut is frozen to the shaft. Can I remove the whole shaft and clean it.Or is there horrible springs and demons attached?

560 Engine in 420SEL?
Hey Kent, Are the 420 block and the 560 block about the same size? I found a valve cover thats off a 560 that will fit my 420. Are the block and heads the same, just the stroke is different.I am going to pick and pull tomorrow for the valve cover and safety belts. Should I just grab the engine and use some parts for my 420 or even put the 560 inplace of the 420?

differential removal

Can you give a short summation on how to remove the differential on my 82 sd? I recently purchased one that howls very loud, and the previous owner supplied one with the car. I do have a car lift, tranny jack, tall jack stands. Just looking at it, I would unbolt it from the body, lower it, drain out lube, take rear cover off, remove axle clips (Pin), remove rear wheels, loosen axle nuts on hub, and go from there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Bill

Front end shakes and rattles
I have a 1983, 300SD. At speeds around 60 to 70 mph I get vibration that fells like it is coming from the right front wheel and I also feel it thruogh the gas pedal. Also when making a right banking turn, (as in going from one freeway to another freeway), the front end will shake violently. This also feels like it is at the right front wheel. Can you give me any help as to what to look at and what to look for?
