Yesterday, suddenly, the rear left door of my 1984 300D would open only half way. (Bad) Today, I see a beautiful door check strap for the 123 is on sale! (Good) But it's only for front doors. (Not so good) Do you stock a door check strap for rear doors? Thanks. Jim Norman
Last year my parents bought me a 1977 240d with a 300d engine. I love the car because of its old style and drove it for about 4 months before pools of coolant started to appear under my car. I am wanting to fix my car now that my dad recently passed away and i need to know if anyone could help me by finding out what the cause is. I have had people tell me its a freeze plug behind the engine. All can tell is that its leaking between the engine and transmission. if anyone could answer this for me i would appreciate it and i would know that i must purchase a freeze plug.
car was not starting, replaced battery, it would turn but not start, replaced fuel filter, still would not start. replaced overload relay 10A fuse, car finally started, but runs very rough and uneven. acceleration is at a minimum, then will race momentarily , then will die back down to a rough idle. can anyone tell me whats going on and what else i can try? i also had the engine replaced a little over a year ago.
I just bought a 79 300d. The front wheels are 'kicked out' at the bottom. I think it has to be a front end issue........but I can't find anything loose. Anyone with experience with this chassis have any ideas of where I should be looking?

I bought a 69 280s (second owner from new)1 year ago.It needs a full restoration so I started a mechanical restoration.The car was in storage for 5 yrs,and had not been started.I replaced all fluids and filters,had the carbs rebuilt,drained and power washed the gastank,replaced all ruber hose and lines,added new bosh platinum plugs,replaced fuel filters,overhauled the mechanical fuel pump,changed the points,ballast resistor,and ignition cables,cleaned and refitted the distributer cap and rotor,after all this the car only starts when gas is poured in the carbs and dies.I have poured fresh gas(87 octane)in the tank and some fuel stabeizer,poured a can of carb cleaner in the two zeniths, Replaced the fuel filters,
Can anyone please talk me through or even better show me pictures of how to install new passenger side window (front) window glass in my 1984 300CD? Thanks!

I am in the process of having the car painted in another country and would like to inquire if you would recommend the one stage or the two stage process. Because I am buying the paint, how many quarts do you think I will need, using urethane medium reducer, plus activator. The paint being used is called Val-Spar. The 1979 300 SD originally used a one stage process and the vehicle will be striped of all chrome hand sanded as there is no body work to be done and the original paint is just starting to form small check marks due to the aging. I just towed my 1984 300 Turbodiesel about 2 miles at 20 mph without the engine running - After I got the engine started again, the car would not shift into 2nd gear. Does it ruin a transmission to tow a model 123 without the engine running? It has been very cold out (7 degrees F) and perhaps something inside the transmission is stuck. Anybody with any ideas on what might be going on with this transmission after being towed for that distance and speed?
