Cruise control erratic

I have a 90 300d. My cruise control is being very erratic. I will click set, and then it accelerates probably at least 5 mph faster than i set it and then it shuts it off and then back on, and then back off and on etc. Has any body had this happened? I am lost at where to start. I have a alldata manual on it but its not much help. Is there some sort of adjustment with it? Thanks Jerritt

300D fuel starvation

I'm having a fuel starvation problem on my '78 300D; it just isn't getting enough fuel when I push the accelerator pedal to the floor. I've been running it on WVO for the past 2 years. It has gotten progressively worse on power, and now it takes forever to get up to speed on flat ground and barely goes uphill at all. So far, I've replaced 3 injectors that were bad, had the valves adjusted, replaced the in tank fuel filter and cleaned the line from tank to front. I've also changed out the hand primer which was leaking air, but that didn't help either.

honest diesel mechanic wanted Seattle

Hello, I am new to this forum, I have a 1993 MB diesel 350 straight six in my truck and would like contact information for a good mechanic here in the Seattle area. I want a mechanic that does not create problems, is very knowledgeable to all mercedes diesels, and does not mind working with and trouble shooting vehicles with SVO conversions. Evidently my truck is semi rare here in the states so said mechanic must be comfortable working on new things. My truck is a mid 90's G-wagen. Your referrences are appreciated. -Krashappy

84 300SD Battery Drain

Anyone know how to diagnose a battery drain in a 126- 1984 300SD? I just bought this car a few months back with a new battery. I guess I know why the guy who sold it to me put a new battery in right before he sold it...... The car starts when jumped. The battery is 3 months new. I tested it with a multimeter. After sitting for the night the battery is around 10. After its jumped the battery reads 13.5. The alternator is fine as far as I can tell. Never died on me while I was driving and the battery charges while the car is running.

87' 300TD NO A/C

Hello Everyone, I just bought a 87' 300TD. The a/c is not working. I'm a ASE certified master tech but I have no experience with Mercedes. The climate control seems to be working OK. THe fan speed changes with the temp settings, the air blows from the correct ducts when swithched which usually indicates no vacuum leaks or sevo problems. But the A/C compressor clutch does not engage. I checked the high and low pressure switches on the high side a/c line near the sight glass and they are not getting any power to them so jumping them will not help. I've read that the a/c control cutout relay could be bad, but I don't like throwing new parts at a problem without verifying with a test 1st. So can you tell me how to properly diagnos this ?? Thanks in advance for any help. Art D

'84 300SD driver's seat

I'm wondering if there's anyone out there that has had a seat motor go bad? I have replaced the seat switch on my driver's side to no avail and am wondering where to go next. I can hear the switch make a noise when I move it so I am assuming that is in working order. I have both of Kent's manuals (Chassis Door Maintenance and Repair & Front Seat Repair and Restoration) and neither speak directly to my situation. However, they do a wonderful job in describing how to remove the front seat, which I'm slightly afraid that's where I'm going to have to go to next!

Liquid Block Sealer - Is it worth the hype?

First of all, it's not December 31, 1969, but instead is April 9, 2008. I have a 1990 300TE that had a heater hose break, and the dumb fool poured cold water into the radiator bottle. Now I have oil in the water (though no water in the oil!). Advance Auto sells this bottle of green fluid that GUARANTEES to fix leaks in head gaskets, cracked blocks, valve cover gaskets, etc. that is added to water. The big hitch is that the car must be able to idle for 50 minutes while the stuff does it's thing. One thing I found out; a cracked block is not conducive to idling more than a couple of minutes - much less 50 minutes (no wonder it's guaranteed to work if you follow the directions to the letter).
